Providing recognition and support for those individuals and organizations that have succeeded in supporting the community through promoting sustainable employment and the promotion of ethics.
More precisely we aim to:

  1. motivate non-profit organizations and individuals to come up with initiatives to serve the community in different fields in the cities and villages of the Arab world;
  2. recognize and reward those initiatives and programs that  serve a wider segment of the society;
  3. Increase awareness and promote the spirit of competition among individuals and organizations for serving worthy causes
  4. lay a strong foundation for ongoing community service.

Awards Categories
The ALJ distinguished prizes for the year 2008 will be given to:
1. Organizations that have created job opportunities through formal training;
2.  Individuals who have promoted Ethics and Morality among youth.

Nomination Criteria
The nomination for the prize will be open for organizations and for individuals with relevant themes. In order for organizations and individuals to be nominated, the following eligibility criteria have been established:

Eligibility

  1. The nominee may be an organization or an individual.
  2. All nominees should be from non-governmental parties.
  3. Nominees should be nominated by another organization.  Self-nomination will not be accepted.
  4. Full documentation (as required in the "Nomination File") is to be submitted in two hard copies and one soft copy electronically or on CD.
  5. Documentation should be submitted in English, Arabic or French
  6. The eligible project/activity should have been completed and running for at least three years prior to nomination.
  7. The project should be consistent with the objectives of the Award
  8. The project should be relevant to the theme of the Award.

Documentation required for the Nomination File

For individuals:
1. Formal letter of nomination by the nominating body
2. A completed nomination form
3. Supporting materials (as required)

For organizations:
1. A completed application form
2. Formal letter of nomination by the nominating body
3. A completed nomination form
4. Evidence that the eligible organization is registered
5. Evidence of finances and financial plans

Evaluation of Individuals & Organizations:

The evaluation of eligible individuals will depend on three aspects:
1. The nominee’s credentials
2. Social impact of the program offered and its sustainability
3. Level of resources contributed
4. Creativity

The evaluation of eligible organizations will depend on three aspects:
1. The degree of mobilization of resources devoted to the project;
2. Employment opportunities created by the project;
3. Impact of the project on the empowerment of the individual
4. Quality and quantity of formal training offered
5. Creativity
6. Level of sustainability
7. Ability of program’s repetition in other areas of the world
